I've recently made a purchase of brand new software for my C64: An accounts payable package (Bill Payer), a DBMS system (Creative Filer), and two games by EPYX. For this bundle, I didn't have to pay a bundle - price, delivered C.O.D. to me at work was $24.80. Pirates, you might wonder? Not at all. This marks the second time I've taken advantage of software closeouts by a mail order firm known as PROTECTO enterprises. When they have one of these closeouts, nearly all software they list is FOUR DOLLARS AND NINETY FIVE CENTS. This includes some nice stuff, too! Take your pick of word processors, DBMS packages, spreadsheets, Accounts Payable/Receivable, inventory, games, etc. You might want to ask these guys to put you on their mailing list. Pick up nearly any copy of a COMPUTE! publication at your local bookstore and look through it for the inevitable PROTECTO ENTERPRISES ad. Scribble their address or phone number on a piece of scrap paper and give them a shout. For me, $5.00 a shot is nearly irresistable, especially if I've been pining for a new good integrated word processor, database, and spreadsheet package. From anyone else, kiss your hard earned bucks goodbye. From PROTECTO, plunk down $15.00 and there you go! Even if the software turns out to be a turkey, at least it wasn't the $50.00 - $100.00 you might have paid. I said sister I'll soon be gone; just give me that thing you're sittin' on: that diddy-wa-diddy, diddy-wa-diddy. I WISH someone'd tell me what diddy-wa-diddy means!
