I currently have the Paperclip 64 text processor, a Cardco B Interface, and a Kaypro Juki 6100 printer. In using this combination of hardware and software, I find that the printer produces some garbled characters with the following condition. Everytime that I want to footnote a quote, I enter the escape sequence for a superscript which is escape and #. Superscripting works perfectly in all cases except when it must print a footnote after a quote. Instead of getting a superscripte, I get garbled characters like $27[D1-$27[U If anyone knows what the problem may be, I would appreciate it. I believe that the problem may lie in the printer driver file... sjl (udenva) Universe of Diversity

I'm using a Xetex Super Graphics interface, and I get something similar following quotes. I suspect that the problem involves the interface attempting to simulate Commodore's "quote mode". The Xetec card has some command-channel options which are documented as "disabling listings", which I *think* turns off quote mode, but using this command does odd things to my printer, so I'm not sure what to make of it.
