[net.micro.cbm] 1670 modem and TERM.PLUS

jrl@sdcarl.UUCP (J. Robert Lee) (04/28/86)

Has anyone successfully used the any 1200 baud modem with
the C64 (NOT the C128) with the 80 column TERM.PLUS
V52 emulator on a UN*X system? The version of TERM.PLUS
that I have been using works great in VI in 80 column mode
at 300 baud with my old modem and no extra hardware.

Currently I am using the TERM.PLUS in 80 column mode that I got
with my 1670. I've had no problems with the vt52 emulator. It's fast
enough for 1200 bps (I think it uses programmable characters or something
like that, rather than graphics... but I'm not sure). I bought mine about
five months ago. I've also been using CBTerm, which is not an emulator
but is a good public-domain program with XMODEM, a 22.5 K buffer, etc.
I hope I can help with any problems you may be having??
