[Eat bits] This may seem ridiculously simple to reasonably advanced CP/M types but I had a great deal of trouble with the 1670 as it comes up under CP/M (auto answer,no command echo, speaker on) since: I use KERMIT (no autodial), work late at night (cranky roomate) and work during the day as well (Boss getting an earful of modem). On the chance there are other novices with similar problems: here is a solution. The following "profile.sub" is eliminates most of the problems: device auxout:=rs232 pip aux:=modem.ini Where "modem.ini" has my modem initialization string: ATM0S0=0E1. Happily the 1670 will take commands at full speed and it hasn't interfered with kermit nor mex. -- - Dave "Tuttle" Fetrow Defender of CP/M-80 in a multibyte world { ihnp4, fluke, tektronix }!uw-beaver!entropy!fetrow :UUCP entropy!fetrow@uw-beaver.arpa :ARPA fetrow@UWALOCKE,7833117@UWAVM :BITNET 74175,1724 :Compuserve
