I recently acquired a vt100 emulator that runs on my C128. After purchasing the necessary 80 column monitor, I found that the emulator will not emulate the vax edt keypad editor. Since this was my reason for purchasing the monitor (and getting the emulator), I am now looking for a better vt100. I have a very good one for my C64, but cannot use the keypad in 64 mode. First, do any emulators exist which will allow the keypad to be used via modem hookup? Second, does anyone know where a GOOD vt100 emulator can be obtained, either for the C128 or for CP/M (the Commodore compatible type)? I would appreciate feedback from people -- even if it's of the type, "I've been looking for a long time and haven't found anything." My present vt100 for the 128 came off of a bulletin board service called Quantum Link, so don't tell me to look there. Thanks! -- Jeff Sauder {seismo,umcp-cs}!nbs-amrf!sauder

Well, you probably have the vt100 emulator that Commodore includes with their 1200 baud modem. To send the vt100 escape sequences, just hit `alt-key' (PF1, PF2, ..., 0,.,enter,...). When the `alt' key is not used, the emulator just sends the normal numeric ascii codes, and the function keys are just what you defined using the `alt-K' command. Give it a try. I have not seen any better vt-100 emulators out for the 128, but if anyo has, please post it. I hope that solves your problem. Jim Dyvig In search of beer.

The software emulates the VT100 on the C128, as a matter of fact this is what I am using now on the Unix system. I works very well, I have had no problems using the VT100 at all. The name of this software is "AUTOCOM128/80" and is available from the =============== ANCHOR AUTOMATION, INC =================== =============== 6624 VALJEAN AVENUE =================== =============== VAN NUYS, CALIFORNIA =================== =============== 91406 U.S.A. =================== =============== (818) 997-6493) =================== If I can be of any further help drop me a line via E-mail (ubsims@ecsvax) Univ. of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C.

I received a copy of a VT100 emulator with the software when I purchased the 6820 modem and software. i am looking for a place to by the Modem 1200, how does it function at 1200 baud?? Also any price??? Thanks, Bill Sims, (ubsims@ecsvax).
