I was in Target the other day and saw the 1541's on the shelf as usual, but as I looked closely at the demo model, I saw that it was of the *pop* disk variety. I then checked the boxes and found that the demo did in fact match the ones in the boxes. I thought to myself that they must have been old ones sitting in the warehouse and just got out, but something caught my eye. The manual that comes with the drive was a newer edition than the one I had (mine is the latch type) and that this one was thicker and included documentation (sparse as it may be) on the modify option in the open statement. Has Commodore gone back to the old type of drive? And does anyone really know the *true* use of the modify option? Please respond.
