[net.micro.cbm] Mach5 cartridge

I have a mach5 cartridge fast loader which I purchased
about a year ago. It is not the "NEW" version which is listed
as being compatlble with the 64/128 and the 1541. My mach5
"works" with my 64/1541 but does not boot-up with my 128/1541.
The screen remains dark and the keyboard does not function.
Is it because I have an old version or is my 128 expansion
port bad? I use the Epyx fast load cartridge in the port and
it seems to work,i.e.it boots up in the 64mode and the functions
seen to work. Can my expansion port still be bad and is there
any way I could test it out to be sure? I do not use the disk
that came with the cartridge as it was not useful to me. While
using my C64, the disk was not necessary for my applications.

				Thanks,
				Steve M.

The Mach5 cartridge will (should anyway) force the c128 to boot into c64 mode
like anyother c64 cartridge would. Are you trying to use c128 80-column mode
with this thing? Of course the screen would stay blank in that case as the
c64 mode doesn't give a hoot about the 80-column screen.

This and many other programs/devices/etc. that claim to work with the c128 do
so only in c64 mode; of course there's no need for this cartridge in 128 mode
anyway...
