[net.micro.cbm] Info needed on C-64 compilers

awinterb@udenva.UUCP (Mr. Poot) (10/21/86)

Has anyone had any experience with the following C64 compilers? I'd
like to know about ease of use (editors, number of disks, how
many times they must be switched in the drive).

BASIC compiler by Abacus Software ($39.95)

Blitz! basic compiler by Skyles Electtric Works ($49.95)

KMMM Pascal compiler by Wilserve Industries ($99)

Kyan Pascal compiler by Kyan Software ($49.95)

Super Pascal compiler by Abacus ($39.95)

All info taken from COMPUTE!'s Gazette, Nov. 1986

Blitz by Skyles is the best that I have come across. for c-64 Basic.
Easy to use with a nice manual and one disk.
You load up the Compiler and it asks you if you have one or two drives
or even a dual drive. If you only have one frive, that is ok, you take
the Blitz disk out and put the program disk in. It makes two passes on the
disk. Of course you have to remember how slow reading from the disk can be.
Blitz allows you to use extra commands. By this I mean you can compile a
Simons Basic Program, a Super graphics program and all those neat programs.
Oh well, if you are interested you can mail me directly with any questions
that you might have.
