July 9-10 is National Nude Weekend. To celebrate, the Tri-State Metro Naturists (TSMN), at last report, was planning on a clean-up of the Sandy Hook beach (a noble project). The newsletter says: The clean-up hike will begin at the Visitors Center along the three mile hike to the nude beach section. During clean-up, although comfort will be sacrificed, clothing will not be removed until arrival at the nude beach. We wish to remain covered out of consideration to some individuals on the textile beach who might otherwise be offended. This is a major event during which everyone can help to further the goals of body-freedom. It is not difficult to remain out of camera range [media will be invited] if anonymity is important to you. It is important, however, that you attend. The more people there are the greater the strides toward our goals - not so much at Sandy Hook which is a safe haven, but also the many other beaches, such as Jones Beach, where naturists are still facing harassment. One more thing, bring a trash bag. Sounds like something that everyone could help with: Those that are opposed to nudity, but want a clean beach, those that aren't sure about the whole thing but want to see what kind of people are (and who want a clean beach), and those that are sure (and who want a clean beach). I'll update with details if any arrive. Pete LaMaster (201)949-0040
