mfp@pyuxss.UUCP (A Garcia) (12/12/84)

Hey! all you nudists out there, how come your`e so quiet lately.
Speak out and let`s hear it for the boy.
If it`s winter and we can`t see anything let`s at least read something.

Okay, if you want someone to speak out, I'll ask:

Does anyone have any information on the clothing-optional whale watch for
next year (like a date, or address to write to)?

I have it on very good authority that the whales will not be clothed AGAIN
this year. My source ? M.Dick @ 38 N 68 W, Atlantic Ocean.

On a more serious note. Clothing-optional activities are de rigeur in the
Caribbean, especially in boating activities, much more so that in the
continental US(climate helps considerably). Whale watching can be
done from the island of Bequia where whaling is still an active occupation.
These guys go out in open 16-20' rowing boats to catch their whales !
Bequia is located in the Grenadines of St. Vincent (approx 100 miles north
of Grenada).

My plans for New Years Eve include attending a party at some friends. For the
past two years they have heated their swimming pool to about 101 degrees (a bit
expensive) and turned it into a monster hot tub. Clothing optional, of course.

Hottubs are wonderful especialy the outdoor ones. So what if it's 20
outside or 40, it's about 100 in the tub and takes no time to get you warm.
Some cities have places with outdoor tubs to rent if you're not lucky enough
to own one or have access to one.

Later on, in about February or so after things thaw. It's nice to
uncover the pool and periodicly jump in. We found it better to start out
on the far side if you are brave enough to swim across. That way you are
right there at the tub when you get out. It's quite exhilarating and after
about the third time your skin kinda shuts off and you kind of radiate.

Careful. I understand that such hot -> cold transitions can send blood
pressure to 300+.

Actually, I am enamored of the reverse process, which is sitting in the
whirlpool for 20 minutes or so and then going out to the cold pool. It is
quite invigorating and afterwards (for about 15 mins) I find it quite
comfortable outside even though it may really be only 40 degrees.

As it is a rather dramatic experience, I asked a doctor friend who said that
if it didn't kill you, it was probably good for you.
