[net.rec.nude] Autumn CwS 5.3 TOC

sxnahm@ubvax.UUCP (Stephen Nahm) (01/29/86)

We're well along into winter, but the arrival of the Autumn issue of
``Clothed with the Sun'' has just arrived. Baxandall continues to
promise that they will catch up, and that subscribers will get their
full four issues.

This issue, Volume 5, No. 3, is titled "California Dreaming, Caribbean
Updates and More." The updates are to the last edition of
the ``World Guide to Nude Beaches & Recreation, '' (1983 edition),
and the previous Caribbean updates in CwS 3.3 (1983) and 4.3 (1984).
Also, this issue has several full color reproductions of Jerry Derbyshire's
photography, which appeared throughout the World Guide.

Single copies are $5.00, subscriptions (4 issues) $18.00 (without Naturist
Society membership). Write: The Naturists, Inc., P.O. Box 132,
Oshkosh, WI 54902.

(The parenthetical comments are mine, by the way, and are meant to
give some more info about the articles.)

                      "Our Readers Take Chances"

                         Clothed with The Sun

The Quarterly Journal of Clothes-Optional Living

                          Volume 5, Number 3

Trends.............................3
(News bits and editorials. Includes announcement of the formation of
NUDEPAC, the naturist's own political action committee; I'll post that
article later this week.)

Letters...........................11
(Several [justified in my mind] complaints about the continued publication
of the thoughts and writings of "Zevs Cosmos", which the editor defends.
But you can't fool me, Lee Baxandall; I know you just publish his drivel to
stir up your readers and get them to write you letters!)

Los Angeles' Finest Hour..........20
(Writings about Venice Beach circa 1974)

Art & the Olympics................33
(Photographs of the clay models of the surpisingly natural statues of a male
and female athelete which were placed atop the Olympic Gateway Arch. The
text criticizes the clothes-minded attitudes at the olymipics which, among other
things, forbade the German swim team from its usual sans-suit practice
swims. Zevs Cosmos is given a side-bar box to rant about the "insult" which
the male statue makes because the model happened to be circumcised. This
guy is getting to be a little bit too much, Lee.)

Naturist Photographer.............37
("Naked with Nature," text by Jerry Derbyshire, with samples of his work.)

The Stroking Community............41
(The Naturist Society's massage special interest group)

Camping Bares Massage.............44

Tyranny of Skirts.................47
(Commentary by artist Hugh Kilmer in response to letters to CwS which
asserted that certain photographs in the last issue were "improper".)

Skyclad [In Holy Nakedness].......49
(Narrative of Pagan spirtuality and its alignment with Naturists' ideals.
Includes a Pagan Resources list.)

Caribbean Updates.................56
(Includes Central & South America. Special emphasis is given to Jamaica.)

The Bare Facts....................73
(Newsletter of the North America Naturists (a club franchise).)

Naturist Leadership Council.......75
("Organized Naturism takes a professional turn.")

The Naturist Network..............77
(Sigs, supporting clubs and local contact info)
