[net.pets] Brewers Yeast Apology/Dog and Cat Debate

unicorn (04/04/83)

>From the reactions to my brewer's yeast "solution", I conclude
that I am either very lucky or have a neat kind of dog: baby
cockapoo. I admit it didn't work too well on our old dog, a
15 yr. old miniature schnauzer.

We had our house completely fumigated last year 2 times, and
in previous years, at least once. The fleas do indeed live in
carpets, beds, and couches. They love to bite people on lower
legs...jumping up out of everything. Terminex recommends fumi-
gation again 2 weeks after the first time to catch the hatched
fleas. This process gets expensive, however--$75 a crack--
so I'm going to try the Severn powder...and I do know of a very
inexpensive spray that we used a couple of weeks ago before the
puppy arrived...it cost $4, and one half of one plastic bottle
did our entire 5 bedroom house...and no messy powder on the floor.
I'll post its name tomorrow.

I think a more interesting and mature debate (?) would be on the
different kinds of dogs (and cats)...for example, we had a miniature
schnauzer for 15 years, and never again. As for cats, I'm
prejudiced: if I even touch one, my skin breaks out in an incredible
rash and I sneeze incessantly.
