As far as cats are concerned, the best way to get rid of fleas is to hold the cat underwater for ten minutes. Bingo! no more fleas. Seriously, tho' -- what can you expect if you let ANY pet live inside with you? They'll pick up parasites outside, then bring 'em right in to you. Either keep them inside all the time, or do not allow them inside at all. 'Nuff said.
