About six years ago there was a TV commercial for a device that sounds very similar to the one described here on one of our local channels. I particularly noticed it because of the very poor quality of the commercial, and the fact that it ran every night, for over two years, during the 6:00 news. The device was called "bug off". Later, during a period in my life when I was reading the newspaper cover to cover, I read a small article about a woman who had sued the manufacturer.
