A friend told me that flea collars work by poisoning the cat's/dog's blood, as opposed to killing them with some aerosol method. Can anyone verify this? Is this what Brewer's Yeast does ( if it indeed works ) ? Does anyone know what they mean on the flea-collar commercial by: 'It works like a powder AND a spray.'? If the explanation of how a flea coller works is correct, it would explain why it will not work in long or heavy coated dogs, at least in my experience. It ought to be great for close cropped dogs, who have fewer problems anyway.
