It is possible that the water from a x-mas tree stand
could contain some harmful compounds.It would depend on
what species the tree was. Some conifers are known to
have compounds in their sap that are dangerous enough to
require mill workers handling their green lumber to wear
respirators. I would prefer to err on the side of caution.
