I also was worried about my tree climbing 6 month old cat and my real Christmas tree. Well I was releived to find that after looking at the tree for a while all she did was crawl under, lay down on the tree skirt and go to sleep. Hope that your experiences are as peaceful. Sally Catena burl!scc

Whatever you do, don't let a mom-cat with kittens near your
Christmas tree! Our very-prolific cat had a litter of kittens
approximately 5 weeks before Christmas one year. At the time the
tree went up the kittens were ready for some climbing lessons, so
mama and 6 kittens headed straight for the little angel. And
stayed. Until the tree reached an angle (horizontal) that was
convenient for disembarking.
Actually, try as I might, I could not stay angry at the sight of
six tiny kittens dangling like ornaments from our tree. From
that point on, our only problems have been low-hanging ornaments
and convincing the cats that the tree skirt does not resemble
kitty litter.
Keeping a perfect tree is not as important to me as the enjoyment
I get from watching animals and children alike playing with it,
so I just make sure that all delicate and/or toxic ornaments are
near the top.
Happy Holidays!
