[] My wife and I will be moving from New Jersey to the San Francisco Bay area, and we have to find a way to allow our cat to do the same. Actually, the cat will be moving from Schenectady, New York to California because my parents will be kittysitting while we drive across country and then go apartment hunting. What alteratives are available for moving a cat across country? How reliable are they? How expensive are they? Our move is coming up real soon, so we would greatly appreciate any information anyone could give us in the next week. lets post answers about moving cats -- my wife and I are moving from Albuquerque to New Jersey and have a cat that doesn't really like to travel. We have a cat carrier and have used tranquilizers in the past (we call them trankys) but never for more than 1 day in a row. Are such medications dangerous if given over a period of several days? It seemed to us to help if we kept the cat away from the windows yet with a view of us. Feeding is also something I do not know about, I can't really see any harm with not feeding it for a couple of days but a cat must have water so a litter box or rest stops are required. I also do not know about motel/hotel regulations about pets and would like to find out. Bryan Bingham {ucbvax,cmcl2!lanl-a,gatech}!unmvax!bingham
