The reason that AKC names tend to be long and pretensious is that the AKC strongly urges that the name be one that no-one will ever duplicate. Additionally, many kennels want their kennel name included in the registration. I don't know any AKC registered dogs that go by their Reg. name. There undoubtably are some somewhere, so don't tell me and the world all about one's you know that do. When I was growing up we had a Sheltie given to us, Reg= Lady Cortina, called Corky. I now have a Great Pyrenees, Reg=Rey Blanco de Stanwyck, called Blanco.
