We got a new puppy when the old dog was about 10 years old and had no trouble to speak of. The old dog seems to be even older and more lethargic than in the past, but I'm not sure if that's because he is depressed about the puppy or if it is just highlighted because of the comparison. They not only get along quite well, they complement each other. One is afraid of going thru doors, but loves to butt his head against it, the other is afraid of butting his head against doors but loves going thru them. So they tend to help each other get around. The only problems we have are that the puppy always wants to play and, when tired, the older dog will get impatient and snap at the puppy until left alone. And the puppy is trying to eat out of both dishes.
