Are there any animal shelters anywhere using a computer for lost and found animals? I have volunteer to help a local Humane Society program their newly donated Apple 2e computer, (with 128K) to do cross matching of lost and found animals. This application will need a hard disk and should be able to hook up to a communications package so it can share data with other animal shelters. I can even imagine graphics helping describe the lost animal. I have two questions: Most important, is that I adhere to any existing standard system of describing animals, so data may be easily shared by all Humane Societies. Dose such a standard exist? Secondly, are any database programs currently used for this application? I am considering recommending various data base programs to this humane society and would like to be compatible with any who have already broken ground in this area. My current best guess for a data base is PDBase, with ALADIN and GENIE running second any comments? Thanks Dave Decker DSD Ampex Corp Redwood City Ca. (mush)
