>Some cats are more stubborn than others... I've been trying for two weeks to >"persuade" my cat that the box spring of my bed is not her scratching post, >especially at 5:00 am. And sure enough, she (usually) won't start clawing it >when I'm watching, especially if she sees the plant mister in my hand. But as >soon as I roll over, *RIP*. If I may say, your cat seeing you doing this is your biggest problem. According to the cat book that I have, the cat is not to be seeing the bottle in your hand. The trick is to have the cat associate the spray with the box spring and not you. Then the cat will avoid the box spring, or whatever object they are going for even when all people are out of the house. If I may suggest that you change your spray bottle and be real careful that the cat don't watch you spray. Go ahead and turn over in your bed but have your arm positioned for that first sound of clawing. Maybe in time. Good luck. Patti Kerr
