<> Another dog which is non-allergenic is the Siberian Husky. My brother is allergic (asthmatic) (sp?) to cats and dogs. Over the Christmas holidays he stayed with us (first time since we acquired the dogs as he lives on the East coast). At that time we had 3 adult sibes and a litter of 8 - 1 month old (very active) puppies. They crawled all over him for a full day. The only symptoms he had was a slight itching in the eyes that went away after about 1/2 hour. We also have friends who come to the house regularly who are allergic to dogs/cats and who are not affected in the least by our *pets*. (Yes, all of the dogs have access to the house). Aside from the above testimonial, the siberian husky is advertised as being non-allergenic Also, in light of the bad *press* that sibes have gotten in the past on the net, my own feeling is that they are the greatest breed around if given what they need (companionship and exercise). For a person who wants to pet a dog once a week and leave it alone in a small, confining area, this breed is NOT! We currently have 6 (yup!) of them and they are a pleasure. As a matter of fact, we frequently have several of the neighborhood kids knock on the door asking if they can play with our dogs, and the dogs are very gentle with our own kids as well as strangers.
