*** LET YOUR FERRET EAT THIS LINE***
Sometime ago there was a discussion in this group about
having ferrets as pets. Since I did not have a ferret as a pet,
and had NO INTENTION of EVER having a ferret as a pet, I read
the postings casually with passing interest.
Guess what my son brought home Saturday!!
He's 10 weeks old, cute as anything I have ever seen, smart,
curious, and full of fun. (The ferret, not my son.
My son is a teenage eating machine that used to be cute but now
walks around with earphones on his head and food in his mouth.)
Anyway, I talked to three vets today. Two vets say that the
ferret needs ONLY canine distemper vaccine, and not feline. The
book, and another vet, say that he needs both. The vet that
seemed to know most about them said only canine. Also, the book
says to castrate and descent as young as possible. The vet says
to wait until 6 months old. What's a mother to do?
Does anyone still have that ferret mail that was on the net a
couple of months ago?
My path is ihnp4!inuxd!jla
Thanks. The book says that he will live to be ten years old. In
my experience, twelve years from now my son will be bringing his
children back to visit Grandma and the ferret.
