This person was not against declawing but this line prompted me to write. I haven't had much experience with cats besides the 2 I have now. I found them untrainable when it came to scratching so I had them declawed. I felt pretty guilty but when they came home after 1 night at the vet (he kept them together since that's what they were used to) they were fine. They seemed to be in no pain and walked normally. Is it unusual that they recovered quickly? The only adverse reaction was when one tried to climb the curtain and slid down instead. Since then they've learned to climb door jambs and their scratching post (it's about 7 ft. tall with a platform at the top). They also "scratch" at everything they can get their paws on.
