[net.pets] Easy-open food bags

nd2k@hounx.UUCP (A.SCHWARZ) (10/24/85)

I wonder if anybody has the same problem with those
"easy-open" pet food bags for dogs or cats as I do. You know
the kind, with the string stitched across the top. Every once
in a while I get it started ok and it zips right across, but
this is the exception rather than the rule. I usually wind up
ripping the damn thing open instead. Do others have the same
difficulty, or have I missed some basic concept necessary for
     opening these things?

The basic concept you're missing is in the tool needed. They're
actually very easy to open, provided you use scissors :-)

Yeah, I've got the exact same problem with my bags of kitty litter...

Those strings appear to be one-way. If it doesn't open easily, try
pulling from the other end of the bag. If that doesn't work, try
buying another brand next time! (I've found Purina cat food is always
easy to open.)
