[net.pets] Lizards in winter

We have a pair of Mexican spiny tailed iguanas. My first problem is that
that's really all the hard information I have about them. The pet shop
didn't know what they were (called them "golden iguanas"). We've kept them
in our greenhouse all summer and fall, but we've been afraid to leave them
out at night during the winter (it just snowed in LA!). The LA Zoo wasn't
much help; they have a set (ex-pets), but don't know much about them
either. They seem to be doing quite well, one shed once, the other twice,
since we've had them. Right now they are occupying our guest bathroom.
Does anyone have any information about the lizards of central Mexico, in
general, and what they do for the winter, in particular? I'd like to leave
them outside, but these guys stop moving when they get cold, and I'm afraid
that they'll stay stopped all winter if it never gets above 65F.

P.S. As the pet shop sign said, "Good Personality!".
