[....purrrr....] Bernie, my 3-year-old domestic shorthair, has taken to chewing on electrical cords. So far, she has inflicted varying amounts of damage to several appliance cords (both unplugged and plugged in), telephone cords (she's chewed through my modem cord *twice*!) and a couple of AC adapter cords. Since my husband and I both work, she is left alone for several hours each day, and that is usually (but not always) when she does the damage. She's also inconsistent about it -- she'll go for weeks without touching a cord, then suddenly she starts chewing any cord she can reach. Does anybody out there have any comments, suggestions, etc. as to why Bernie might be doing this and what I can do about it? I'm trying to keep cords out of her reach, but she invariably seems to find one that I've missed. Indoor pet repellent sprays don't stop her for very long. Aside from the fact that my husband is getting fed up with repairing damaged cords, I'm afraid that she's going to electrocute herself (at least so far she's limited herself to one side of the plugged-in AC cords!). Please reply by e-mail; I'll summarize to the net if anyone else is interested. Thanks in advance, Lydia Uribe ....scgvaxd!muddcs!uribe
