My dog (Shamie) is a Husky/Sheperd mix . She loves to crawl up on my lap
(as well as my wife's lap) and she is constantly growling for joy.
All you have to do is ask her "wanna go out" or "wanna bone" and the growls
(for joy) are endless..

I have 2 unique dogs also.
The first one growls when she sleeps - We think it is the same as snorring.

The second one 'purrs'(literally) when he is scratched behind the ears.
