[net.pets] Fish tank etching

I bought a used 27 gallon hexagon fish tank that
had been used for salt water and I have a problem.
The inside of the glass, up around the top appears 
to be etched and I can't figure out a way to make
it smooth and clear again. Does anybody have any ideas.
