[net.micro.cpm] 8086 Un*x

From: Charles Hutchinson <hutchinson%UMass-ECE@udel-relay>

I'm looking into micro-implementations of Un*x for the 8086/8 and 68000.
Right now, I would just like to get some general info on who all makes
this stuff, and a little info on what you people think are the better
ones (I'm not looking for a major review or anything, just some general
impressions.)

				Any help is appreciated,
Reply to me directly or the net if you see fit...

See the premier issue of "Unix Review" magazine, just out from
the same people who publish "CP/M Review". Cover
story is Unix on the IBM PC.

The article describes, fairly quickly, Coherent, Idris, Microcard
(which uses a 68000 board), QNX, uNETix, and VENIX.

To subscribe to Unix Review, send $23 for 1 year (6 issues)
to 2711 76th Avenue Southeast, Mercer Island WA 98040.

I liked the first issue anyway. If you're familiar with
the magazine "Unique", David Fiedler is the editor
of both magazines.

Also, Microsoft is supposedly about to release Xenix
for the PC-XT later this month.
