In reply to your cromemco trs-80 memo: I have an old TRS-80 model I with
a CP/M system by parasitic engineering consisting of one 8" and two
5 1/4" drives. It is basically my backup system for use when me
$%#@? Cromemco system is down, which until I replaced all my drives with
Morrow drives was extremely often.
The TRS-80 CP/M has been exceedingly reliable and
useful for wordprocessing (Mince) and Fortran program development & Parasitic
Engineering was very helpful with the minor problems that I had.
Recent referrals
tell me, however, that they may have disappeared. Howard Fullmer was the
resident genius.

I do not know about the CS-2, but my Cromemco System 3 gave me years of grief
from shoddy and slow service,
frustrating attempts at having questions answered,
and constantly flaky disk drives (the old PerSci
drives are no longer used, but
Cromemco's lack of support does not bode well). My system now has
Cromemco boards and Morrow hard and floppy drives & a CP/M by MICAH.
It has worked fine since junking the old drives. I should add, however, that
the TRS-80 controller seems to be much better than the Cromemco 16FDC in
that it can read many flakey disks that the Cromemco cannot (including the
disks that were savaged by the old PerSci drives).
