From: Frank J. Wancho <FJW@mit-mc> This is embarrassing. I've installed WordStar on many different machines and printers, but this one's got me stumped. All I can say is that the Daisy Wheel Printer II is probably too smart for its own good, and my patience. It not only does an LF after CR (and I haven't found any way to shut that off yet), it also counts characters and wraps the line if it's "too long". This means that both the "printer that can backspace" (which it can all right), and "any dumb printer" won't work properly! (Well, I suppose we can get by if we just don't use any of the nice features, like bold, double, and underline, with the "printer that can backspace" option. BUT, I might as well let them continue to use SimScript, if that's the case, and send WordStar back! So, this is my "last-ditch, maybe-we-can-salvage-this-disaster" request: Has anyone successfully installed WordStar on a Model II with the above named printer, and still able to use those nice features? If so, please contact me by net mail, or call my office between 7:45am and 4:15pm MST: 505-678-6257, AV: 258-6257, FTS: 898-6257, and leave your name and number. Thanks, Frank
