Anyone have any comments on their products? The prices
on some of their boards make my wallet itch. 256k S-100 SSd kit
@ $399.00.

In reply to harpo!floyd!etcetera's question re what's DRCoT like...I bought
their Programmable Sound Generator board a few years back. It's been
chugging along merrily ever since. In addition, the couple of times I've
given DRCoT a call they've been very helpful (technical questions re
other products of theirs). I understand their single board computer has
been used by at least one other manufacturer in a product. Don't know
anything about it but it's been around a couple years so must have bugs
removed by now (uses 16K rams though, sigh...time marches on quickly in
the computer field). Bottom line is that I personally wouldn't hesitate
buying one of their products if I thought it was better than someone
else's, i.e. I trust them (for example, if they come out with a whizbang
68000 board, I'd just as soon buy it from them as Godbout (another GOOD
company, but that's another story)).

From: John McCluskey <MCCLUSKEY%@BRL-VGR.ARPA>, @BRL.ARPA,@BRL-VGR.ARPA:

I agree that Digital Research Computers is a fairly competent company.
My "Big Board" computer took 6 weeks to arrive after I ordered it, but they
warned me in advance, and didn't bill my credit card until they shipped it.
However, I suspect that most of the technical talent at DRC has dribbled away
to other companies. Jim Fergerson, the designer of both the Big Board I and
the Big Board II, is not working for either of the companies that are marketing
his boards. The Big Board II, while much superior in design, is not as well
documented. Rumor has it that Jim is designing (or has designed) a 256K byte
ram board that plugs into the 64K ram chip sockets on the BB II. JBM.
