[net.micro.cpm] Church/School Software

Woodie.DODCSC@mit-multics@sri-unix.UUCP (10/03/83)

Is anyone aware of cpm software that could be used for keeping
attendance records/general processing for churches and/or small schools?

D-Base2 could be the answer to your needs. I've found it easy to use
and you can perform a myrad of file manipulations as needed.

I've been working on a nice little package I plan to run for a local
church (and maybe donate it to the world if it works OK) that ...

   1. Maintains records of all church members, with a bunch of different
data and fields.

   2. Cross-indexes for family listings.

   3. Allows entry of donations on a weekly basis.

   4. Computes and prints individual donation summaries, by date,
for a quarter and annually (annual summary not running yet).

   5. Permits editing of member records as desired (no editing quite yet
for the donation records.

   6. Uses Microsoft BASIC (I think ver 5.2) and its random file function.

Wait just a wee bit longer, and I'll have some software running that'll
permit me to upload it into either my ARPAnet directory to permit FTPing,
or over a telephone to interested parties. Wouldn't mind a BETA test
of the stuff, and then maybe give it to SIGM or CPMUG.

Message me if interested. It isn't perfect yet, but is pretty clear and
commented BASIC, running on a Z80 w/64K, no special screen stuff.
