I have had several requests to post what I learned from my request about how to get FTP. It seems that you do indeed need to be on the ARPA-net to use FTP. I have been told that you need to be connected with the department of defense to get access to ARPA-net; I have also been told that it is not too dificult for a university to get ARPA-net, so I am not clear on just how easy it is to get FTP up and running at any random site. As for how one can get access to the CP/M public domain software using other programs such as KERMIT, I have not had any replies. Someone here at Kitt Peak seems to know sometihing about it, but he is on vacation at the moment. If anyone out there has a kiddies guide to kermit and how to actually access White Sands, or anywhere else that has public domain CP/M it would be most appreciated (by many others as well it seems).
