From: Herb Lin <LIN@mit-ml> When I back up my disks, I live in constant fear that I am trashing a good copy of a file on my backup with a bad copy that somehow found its way onto the disk that I am backing up. it seems that a good solution to this would be the checksumming (or other check) on a disk file that could be compared to a central file of checksums somewhere. Anyone know anything like this in the public domain or for cheap sale? tnx. I will forward responses to the net. herb lin
