The latest version, bye3-16 will run fine above bdos. Set BYELOW to 'NO', reconfigure cp/m to leave enough space in high memory, and you're off. For Pickles and Trout CP/M, version 2.2m, what works is to set the top of CP/M to EFFF using the menu configuration program. If you're using a Smartmodem, set the base address of the ports to F4 for Serial Port A or F6 for serial port B. I haven't figured out how to handle the baud rate port yet but if you use the MENU setup command in P&T, you can set that port for either 300 or 1200 baud and leave it there. Make sure you rename bye, since users need to log off by hanging up, not by typing bye and invoking the bye program (it hangs). You can create a substitute program named 'bye' if you like, which simply types 'please hang up now' over and over when it is invoked. If anyone figures out how to get the baud rate select features working in bye3 with P&T CP/M, please let me know. Note also that BYELOW set to YES won't work for P&T CP/M; the bye program runs fine until it tries to drop into CP/M, but then it hangs. If anyone has solved that one also, please let me know. --david-- ------- ----- End of forwarded messages
