From: "Richard G. Turner" <rturner@brl> Gentlefolken, I'm relatively new to the CP/M world, and even though I have made my living as a programmer at times, I'm over the hill, so to speak, as a hacker. I'd like to hear (directly, not to tie up this list) from anyone who has a similar configuration to mine, or as close as possible: KayPro II [CP/M 2.2] Hayes Smartmodem 300 Epson look-alike printer I'm especially interested in hearing from anyone who has gotten BYE3 to work in this configuration. I can get BYE to answer the modem, but the system turns into a pumpkin after that. I have been reasonably successful with some of the public domain software at SIMTEL20; MODEM716 runs great guns! Thanks, rick

From: Keith Petersen <w8sdz@brl> Get BYE3-17.ASM and the BY2SMDM something file (I forget it's name) from the SIMTEL20 MICRO:<CPM.BYE3> directory. This version fixed a problem in 3-16 that's probably causing it not to run on your system. If you like MDM716, you'll love MDM717. You can get it from SIMTEL20 Monday, or if you want it earlier you can FTP it from MIT-MC. It's in the following files there: FJW;MDM717 ASM FJW:MDM717 COM FJW:MDM717 HEX FJW:MDM717 MSG Suggest you read the MSG file first. You don't need the ASM file to make it run, as you know. You can use your present overlay file.
