Does anyone have a source for a XMODEM program for a VAX/VMS. If you have any information, please contact me. 312-979-7910 Jerry

From: David Towson (CSD) <towson@amsaa> Jerry - The VAX/VMS modem programs are in the directory "micro:<cpm.vaxvms> on Simtel20. The listing for this directory is attached. If you need help in getting the files, post a request for assistance, and someone on the list will help you. From: Mike Ciaraldi <ciaraldi@Rochester.ARPA> Two comments: 1) I have used the XMODEM in the Simtel libary and it works finewith one proviso: To make it work at 4800 or 9600 baud, we had to give the command which increases the typeahead buffer size on the VAX (something like "ALTBUF", I think). For it to take effect, we then had to log off and back on. There may be a better way to do it permanently, but I think it requires system-administrator privileges. 2) There is an XMODEM written in C available from DECUS. I have not used in myself, but the people at the University of Rochester's Production Automation Project say it works well. Mike Ciaraldi ciaraldi@rochester
