This is the complete list (I think) of port addresses for the Kaypro 2, and older 4's. The newer 4's will use some of the unused ports for the new added standard features such as the real time clock and modem (hope you have heard about that). The 10 I think falls same way, basically same as below but some of extras like the light use some of the 'unused' ports. Ports are selected in groups of 4 by U57, then individually by A0 and A1 of the address bus. (Baud rates ports dont't bother with the individule select.) 0 RS-232 serial baud rate, W (write only) BAUD RATE CODES 1-3 Unused (actually will perform same as port 0) 0 50 4 RS-232 serial data, R/W (read/write) 1 75 5 Keyboard serial data, R/W 2 110 6 RS-232 status, R/W 3 134.5 7 Keyboard status, R/W 4 150 8 Parallel printer data, R/W 5 300 9 Unused PIO (port B of U54), R/W 6 600 A Parallel printer status, R/W 7 1200 B Status for unused port 9, R/W 8 1800 C Keyboard baud rate, W. (but don't change it) 9 2000 D-F Unused (actually will perform same as port C) A 2400 10-13 Disk I/O functions, R/W B 3600 14-17 Unconnected. Pin 10 of U57 decodes this block of 4 C 4800 18-1B Unconnected. Pin 9 of U57 decodes this block of 4 D 7200 1C System port, R/W. (disk select, motor control, E 9600 & printer handshakes) F 19,200 1D Unused PIO (port B of U72), R/W 1E Status of port 1C, R/W 1F Status of unused port 1D, R/W This is actually my first pass this and hasn't all been verified. If someone would add in the info the new 4's and 10's and repost it, I'm sure that all interested would thankful. Regards, Al Weiss
