[net.micro.cpm] problem with OMIKRON

Dreschel%his-phoenix-multics.arpa@BRL-VGR.ARPA (01/28/84)

Help! I mailed an order to Omikron Systems in Berkely, CA in the
second week of Oct. 83 and have still not received the hardware
and software. They have not responded to my last two letters either.
I paid by money order so I am beginning to fear I'll never see my
money again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Z(

Bill - Here is some information concerning your problem. Good luck!

The following is from the February issue of "80 Micro". It is from their
"80 Alert" column on page 14.

"80 Micro has received complaints from readers that Omikron Systems
(1127 Hearst St., Berkeley, CA 94702) has not filled orders or issued refunds.
Omikron informed 80 Micro that it was issuing refunds and expected to be
shipping within a few weeks. Customers who contacted 80 Micro had received
refund checks by press time."

I just got a flyer in the mail offering various special deals on their
TRS80 CP/M adapters and CP/M software. So they must still be in business,
at least as far as asking customers to send money is concerned.

The latest issue of 80 Microcomputing carries a section on various
companies that have either gone out of business or who have customers
complaining about service. Omikron is mentioned there in the latter
category.
