[net.micro.cpm] modem7 on Micro Decision

reece%nadc@sri-unix.UUCP (02/27/84)

I have been trying to get modem7 working on a Morrow Micro-Decision
and am having trouble. I was about to give up and out of desperation,
tried an older version (711) and it worked! Does anyone know why
711 would work and 720 would not? I have the newest MD3 model with the
software setable baud rates and a Centronics port. I made all the setup
routines in the overlay file just "return". I use the Morrow-supplied
setup program to change the rate and have the modem program assume
it's ready to use. I use the same modem720 program on an H89 and it
works fine.

Hi. A friend of mine has an MD-3 and he's running mdm720 with no
problems. You shouldn't change anything in the overlay file at all.
Just leave all the port equates and modem setup routines in tack.
Run setup and make sure the serial port is set to 1200 baud. From there
mdm720 will use a divisor to get down to 300 baud. Any more problems
let me know. We are in the process of getting the BYE program running
on it too. If you have anything on that let me know.

I have Modem 711 on a Morrow MD3. I had no trouble setting
it up to change baud rates. I do not have to use Morrow's
SETUP program at all.

Contact me if you want a copy of the diskette or more
information.
