The schematics came from BG Micro today, and it was well worth the wait. They contain pages xeroxed from the xerox manual (ch 10) along with some information for kit builders and six 10" x 15" schematic sheets. All the vital information is here, so the $5 is well spent. The address once again is: BG Micro PO Bx 280298 Dallas, TX 75228 (214) 271-5546 They apparently will not accept credit cards for the schematics, as they asked us to send a check. For those of you who can't wait, here are the vital connections for the board: Video Output (J7) pin name 1 NC 2 NC 3 Vertical Sync 4 Horizontal Sync 5 Video 6-10 GND Serial IO (J4) pin name 1 GND 2 TX data 3 RX data 4 RTS 5 CTS 6 DSR 7 GND 8 Carrier Detect 9-14 NC 15 TX Clock 16 NC 17 RX Clock 18-19 NC 20 DTR Serial IO Jumper options for Channel A (J9) J9 1 2 o o o o o o M RXD to pin3 o o T TXD to pin2 o o M TXD from pin2 o o T RXD from pin3 o o M CTS to pin5 o o T RTS to pin4 o o M RTS from pin4 o o T CTS from pin5 o o M DCD to pin8 o o T DTR to pin20 o o M DTR from pin20 o o T DCD from pin8 RX Clock to modem o o RX Clock to SIO o o RX Clock from modem to SIO o o Clock to SIO with TX clock o o Modem supplies SIO w/TX Cl o o Clock to Modem with TX Cl o o 39 40 All entries marked with 'T' should be jumpered for use with a modem All entries marked with 'M' should be jumpered for use with a terminal Serial IO Connector (J3) Pin name 1 GND 2 RX data 3 TX data 4 CTS 5 RTS 6 DSR 7 GND 8 Terminal Ready 9-19 NC 20 DCD 21-25 NC Keyboard Connector (J2) Pin name 1 B0 2 B1 3 B2 4 B4 5 B4 6 B5 7 B6 8 B7 9 Strobe 10-12 NC 13 +5 14-25 GND Disk Drive Connector (J2) Pin name 1 NC 2 8/5.25 select (GND=5.25",open=8") 3 NC 4 Index 5 Select 1 6 Select 2 7 Side 8 HDLD 9 Step in 10 Step 11 Write Data 12 Write 13 TRK 00 14 Write Protect 15 Read Data 16 Low Current 17 Ready 18 NC (use for +12 suggested) 19 +5 20-37 GND The Power connections I used to get the board up without a disk are: (J5) Pin name 1 -12 2 +12 4 GND 8 +5 There is also a lot of information on the monitor that is supplied with the board, and the character set for the video. Since this is fairly long already, that will have to wait. --- Overall there is a smell of fried onions.
