Unfortunately SIMTEL-20 (and COLUMBIA-20/CU20-B) [sources of mucho
public-domain micro software] are reachable only by machines connected to
the ARPA internet (including MILNET, ARPANET and hundreds of small,
campus-wide nets within many of the labs and universities with DoD and DARPA
contracts). These announcements of software inaccessible to the majority of
usenet readers appear because of gateways between netnews and comparable
mailing lists on the ARPA internet.
Maybe this notice should be added to those in net.announce (to join such
venerables as don't ask origin of "grep", etc).
