Finally after 3 months of organizing and conversing with the 12 or so members of our GROUP PURCHASE,, The bids were in and the DEAL was made!. Initially I wanted to deal with local music centers (larger than a bread box variety) thinking that they could live with lower profit than a larger one. WRONG!.. The initial bids that came back were JOKES to say the least. the prices given could be had by anyone walking of the street!...So... Three of the largest were contacted (Sam Ash, Manny's, and Rhythm City). I talked to the owner of Rhythm City and after several "I'll call you backs," I gave up! Tim Snyder ATTACKED Sam Ash and Manny's on a Saturday for about 4-5 Hours to establish prices for about $11K (their portion of the order) worth of equipment. I had also contacted Manny's several days before and had given the list to Ian (Manny's son and general manager). Ian did'nt know Tim was part of the order! The following Monday I contacted Ian to get his "Package bid"... Tim's portion of the order was about 150-200 $$ less that his best price... So,,, we settled on MANNY'S after having him knock down some of the prices even more. (SPECIAL THANKS TO TIM SNYDER FROM ALL INVOLVED!) Below is a list of the equipment and prices that we settled on. I WILL BE ORGANIZING ANOTHER GROUP PURCHASE AFTER THE FIRST OF THE YEAR (maybe FEB).. SO....
