[net.micro.cpm] 128k/192k Applicards

bob@zeppo.UUCP (12/21/84)

Has anyone had experience with the 128K or 192K expansions for the
PCPI Applicard used for CPM in Apple 2's?

I have a 192k Applicard on a ][+ and I think it's great. I definitely
advise getting the 192k for use with text editors; Mince runs like stink
at 6mhz, swapping off the "silicon disk." It is extremely fast and
convenient to have your program set for a given application on the
silicon disk and be able to use both floppies for data. PCPI
documentation is a little sparse, and I would definitely supplement it
with Cortesi's "Inside CP/M," but their technical assistance over the
phone is first-rate.

I can second Applicard as a good item; we've had one for years
in thge kids' apple ][
