spangler@kvue.UUCP (Lance Spangler, Producer) (01/16/85)
I'm a new user of USENET, as well as a novice at computing in general. But for the last two months (Since KVUE became a USENET station) I have read several articles making reference to SIMTEL20, and the software that is available there. My questions are these: Is SIMTEL20 a public access BBS? How does one go about getting access to it? What is the phone number? I have one other question as well. There have been several articles which have made reference to a CP/M mailing list. How would I go about being added to the list? I am a television producer in Austin, Texas, and use a portable Zorba 8-bit CP/M machine quite a lot at both home and on the road. My general applications are word processing and telecommunications. Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter. Lance Spangler {ihnp4,seismo,gatech,ctvax,nbires,ucb-vax}!ut-sally!kvue!spangler

The only access to SIMTEL20 is via ARPANET (and MILNET). As a result, the majority of USENET people have no way. If you are an ARPANET novice, ask your guru about anonymous ftp. -- Darrel J.
