There exist several disassembly listings of Apple DOS 3.3; one of which was distributed on disk by the people who produced the Beneath Apple DOS book. It should be pretty easy to modify the INIT routine to count past 35 (you will also have to change the sector skewing table to the CPM standard -- this is described in Beneath Apple DOS).
