[net.micro.cpm] archive-request Catch-22

CSNET%UKANVAX.BITNET@wiscvm.ARPA (09/10/86)

I have a problem concerning the archive-request mechanism that is
in place at SIMTEL20.

It seems that when I attempt to get the <CPM.STARTER-KIT> files (in
particular USQ120.COM), I receive the file in a 'squeezed' format.
Well, needless to say, I cannot unsqueeze this file (I am using
the SEND RAW PD:<CPM.STARTER-KIT>USQ120.COM request command.)

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way of getting a USQ120.ASM?

Or have I yet to fly the required number of bombing missions?
Is Major Major in? Oh, he is only 'in' when he is not here? :-)

                                        Thanks in advance,

                                        Dave Long

Dave,

The "RAW" format applies only to ASCII text files. Thus, your
"Catch-22" observation is quite valid. The following HEX versions of
those key files now exist, which you can request in "RAW" format:

Filename Type Bytes CRC

Directory PD:<CPM.STARTER-KIT>
UNARC.HEX-Z80.1 ASCII 9928 3613H
UNARCA.HEX-8080.1 ASCII 11459 4B24H
USQ120.HEX.1 ASCII 4382 AEA9H
UUDECODE.HEX.1 ASCII 25555 50F5H
